Australian piper and composer Mark Saul has a reputation for pushing the boundaries of his instrument and breaking new ground. It is this attitude and desire to create new, innovative Celtic-influenced electronic dance music in a live format that The Mark Saul Band brings to audiences.

The Mark Saul Band plays a contemporary, hybrid-style music that fuses traditional Celtic-influenced instrumentals with modern electronic sounds and dancefloor beats. The band creates a unique form of accessible dance music; a Celtic dance band with the dynamism of live musicians, the groove of a great DJ and the “bring-on-the-party” sound of the bagpipes leading the way. Mark Saul’s virtuoso bagpipes are joined by high-energy fiddle, dynamic guitar, slap bass and electro beats that get the crowd dancing!

The band provides an alternative to the more acoustic-based traditional acts at folk festivals. Because of their cross-over capabilities, the band’s performances at more mainstream music festivals have proved their unique music to be highly accessible for young people who would not normally listen to bagpipe or traditional music.
